We work to reduce violence through the promotion of evidence based approaches
Over the past two decades, we have seen a growing focus on systematic strategies to preventing violence. For example, ‘public health approaches’ move away from a traditional focus on policing and prosecution in favour of mapping and addressing the underlying causes of violence. Similarly, ‘community approaches’ focus on increasing participation in the public square and early interventions with vulnerable young people, building the resiliency and safety of a neighbourhood through the vitality of its public life.
We support the reduction of violence through the promotion of these new evidence based approaches and interventions.
